* "Whoa! Look at that cool car mom! Do you think we could borrow it sometime?"

* "Mom, what's that little dot on the TV?"
I was far away and could barely see a tiny dark spot.
Me: "Uh-Oh. Looks like there might be something wrong with the screen. See, TV's are made of a bunch of tiny lights that create the picture we see. One of those lights must be out. That's not good."
Carter: "Nah, it's just a booger. I put it there on Tuesday."

* "Mom, I don't want to wear sandals today. I think I should wear my tennis ball shoes.

* Carter: "So Nana, where did you get this white car of yours?"
Nana: "At a dealership in Provo."
Carter: "How much did you pay for it?"
Nana: "Well, about sixteen thousand dollars."
