From day one, Max has had to LEARN how to do everything. Things that you and I did as a baby that didn't even phase us, or our overly-proud parents for that matter, Max could not do and had to put effort and a lot of practice before mastering. So to anyone that doesn't know Max, it might seem strange to hear me say that my four year old who has such limited mobilty, has come so far.
But I'm saying it now. Wow. I am so proud of him! This picture shows what he has been comfortably and voluntarily doing quite a bit lately and I get so excited! He LOVES to play in this position and roll around back and forth. Again, it may sound so insignificant, but this is the same little boy that would throw a fit if not flat on his back. If you tried to show him how to move his body, he would throw a tantrum and fight back with everything he had. Once we had mastered one shoulder off the floor just a couple of inches, it was on to the next challenge of a couple more inches, and so on and so forth.
I'm just really proud of Max and I'm really optimistic about the future. He is really progressing and I am continually amazed by him. I'm sure I have never met a sweeter little boy in my whole life. I'm so lucky. :)

Oh, Maryann, that is so wonderful to hear! He really has come so far, and you know it's because he has such a wonderful Mom and Dad!
WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAX!!!!!!
Yea, I am so happy to hear about his progress. That is great. He is so cute, we love that little guy!!
Good Work Max!!
YEAH MAX!!!
YEAH MARYANN!!!
YEAH MATT!!!
YEAH CARTER!!!
I know it is definitely a group effort! Mighty Max has such great parents for a reason! WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!
Oh Maryann, I am sitting here in tears. I have seen so much progress also. I forget to tell you that when the boys spent the night Wednesday they were playing in the tub. I looked in and saw Max on his stomach, putting all his weight on one elbow while kicking the water vigorously and laughing estaticaly. It was such progress from their bath while here just two weeks ago. He IS making great strides and I am SO HAPPY!
We're so grateful for the power of prayer and Maryann, Matt, and Carter, and ALL his family who help so much.
Max and Carter are EXCEPTIONAL..They are two of my BEST BUDS... They have the very best attitudes and work in such harmony, and they are both the pictures of unselfishness. I LOVE THOSE KIDS.... There is a noticeable recent improvement in Max's efforts to walk. I have always known that he will walk. What he may lack in coordination, he makes up for it in courage and determination. He is a tiger... g
When the girls were all over at your house last month and I was complaining about Roya not grabbing at things - I realized later that my concerns are no match for yours and I apologize for being so insensitive that night. But you , of course, were wonderful and helped me feel better. I'm sorry that we don't spend more time together now that I have a little one too but I do know, and hope you realize, that Max and Carter do have the best mom in the world!
Love,
Toni
We Love Max!!!!
(and Maryann, Matt & Carter!)
Thats great. I spent most of the day crying about President Hinckley and I finally got myself to stop and then I saw that. All happy tears of course, but now the entire area around my nostrils is red and swollen, and it stings really bad.
Anyway, that really made my heart happy. And Nan, well done on being such a great mom.
I am so proud of him. What a champ! He is the sweetest boy and you are so blessed.
Yea Max! He IS the sweetest little boy. He inspires us all with his strength and we are all blessed to have the four of your in our lives!
"Go gettem Max"
