Laurel Brown Dimond
Our Angel Laurel Brown Dimond, born 16 April 1940 in Tucson, AZ to Amanda Johnson and Laurel Jasper Brown. Died 12 November 2007, Salt Lake City, from kidney failure, multiple myeloma and rheumatoid arthritis. Married Brent R Dimond 28 Sept 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. Graduated Jordan High School and attended BYU, LDS Business College and Salt Lake Community College. She worked at West Jordan High School as secretary where she brightened and cheered students, teachers and staff and loved that association. Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as ward Relief Society president, Young Woman and Primary president, Jordan River Temple worker. Especially loved the youth and children. Involved in YW wilderness camps for 26 years and loved the outdoors. A talented water color artist, loved to do hand work, singing, and any adventure, she had the can-do attitude. Survived by husband Brent, children: Wendi (Pa'ulasi) Matavao, Jason Dimond, grandchildren: Carissa, Tate and Makayla Dimond, Toa and Lelani Matavao, mother Amanda J Brown, brothers Larry D Brown and M Kay (Pat) Brown. She loved her family and everyone loved Aunt Laurel. Services will be Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Mtn Shadows 8th Ward 8173 S. 3200 W., West Jordan at 11 a.m. Viewing Fri. 16th 6-8 p.m. at the church and Sat. 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial at West Jordan City Cemetery 1300 W. 7800 S. Online condolences may be submitted to www.serenicare.com.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. How long was she the secretary at West Jordan High? I was just wondering if I might know her...I graduated in '95.
She sounds like a remarkable individual.
She was there in '95. I think she was in the main office then. If you go to the Deseret News website and look under the obituaries, you can see her picture.
