Max's Manners

Yesterday we took Max to Primary Children's to get Botox injections in his legs. This will temporarily relax the muscles that are usually so tight due to his Cerebral Palsy. During this time frame we're hoping to strengthen and train those muscles to help him improve his walk. I was so nervous that it would be painful for Max and was afraid I wasn't going to be able to stand it.

They laid him on his stomach and gave him four injections. He screamed and cried and all I could do was put my face closer to his, squeeze his hands and ignore the fact that my heart felt like it was being ripped out of my chest. As soon as it was over and the doctors announced that they were done, Max stopped crying and turned back to look at them. With a tear stained face, he managed to smile and say, "Well... thanks for the shots guys!"

Everyone in the room, myself included, completely melted. I love this guy so much and I'm continually amazed at how sweet he is!

All "Max stories" are sweet and melt my heart but that has to be one of the cutest, sweetest, most amazing stories I have ever heard. Thanks for sharing!

You are so lucky to be his mom Maryann. (Although I'm sure he's so wonderful BECAUSE you're his mom.)

Now would you PLEASE forward this story to an apostle? It seriously needs to be told in General Conference.

Our Max is definitely one of a kind! We love him beyond words. He NEVER complains but is ALWAYS happy, positive, and grateful for what we do with him. AND Gene and I are constantly grateful for what He does for US!

Oh, Max. My buddy. I love him. As much as I would have hated to be in that room during the shots, I wish I could have been there to see everyone melt. This is one of my top favorite stories of his.

Max the Melter.
