MY VISION: To make a cute little blanket for my friend who's having a boy.
MY STUPIDITY: Sewing can't be that hard. I really don't need a pattern. I'll just make what I see in my head.
The back turned out great.
Actually, the front turned out pretty cute until I washed it:
It came out in shreds and I was so bummed. Of course, I figured I knew what the problem was so I decided to unstich everything and start over, adding a little material here and there. Looked great! Then I washed it.
Same thing happened. Hours of work down the drain.
MY MISTAKE: Seam Allowance (of course, a foreign term to me until now)
MY CONCLUSION: This blanket will be buried. If I have to unstich one more stich I think I'll pull my hair out. Oh, and now that I think about it, Target makes great blankets.

I applaud your effort. I got a sewing machine for christmas and haven't attempted anything yet. I have a healthy fear of the thing. maybe we could get together and practice.
oh..what a bummer. it's a darling blanket and I love the colors, so sorry that happened.
Or MAYBE...You made the blanket perfectly, and the problem is actually your washing machine.
That's what I would have said.
WOW! "Seam Allowance!" I am just impressed you know what that means because I, of course, don't.
I am sorry but that is an adorable blanket. So proud.
Oh Maryann, I am SO sorry. That is so frustrating. You make a really cute blanket, next time I am sure it will be awesome.
I don't even know what to say, the pictures don't do justice to how amazing that blanket is!! I am so sorry that you put so much time and effort into it, but I do truly truly love it!! :) You are an amazing friend!!
That is soo cute. bummer that it came apart.
